Can you use SA Youth Mobi? If you are eligible, the next steps are accessing your account, keeping your profile accurate and understanding the requirements for the opportunities you want.

How to Register, Log In, and Recover Your SA Youth Account

For many users, the first challenge is simply getting into SAYouth.mobi.

As a general reference, SA Youth targets young people aged 18 to 34, with appropriate identification such as a South African or refugee ID depending on their circumstances.

Individual opportunities may have additional requirements.

If you are new to the platform, you will need to register with accurate personal and contact information.

Already registered? Try to access your existing account instead of creating another one.

This is particularly important if you previously registered through Harambee or Tshepo 1 Million, as your details may already be associated with an account.

🔐 A login problem does not necessarily mean you need a new profile.

Common access issues include:

  • forgotten passwords;
  • an old cellphone number;
  • forgotten login details;
  • an ID or cellphone number that is already registered; and
  • difficulty recovering an existing account.

The right solution depends on whether you are registering for the first time, trying to log in or recovering an account.

How to Update Your SA Youth Profile for Better Job Matches

Accessing your account is only one part of using SA Youth Mobi. Your profile also needs to reflect your current circumstances.

Important information can change over time, including your:

  • 📱 cellphone number;
  • 📍 address and location;
  • 🎓 education and qualifications;
  • 💼 work experience; and
  • 🔄 employment status.

An old phone number could make it difficult for an employer to contact you. An incorrect location can also affect the relevance of opportunities presented to you.

Education and experience matter too. If you have completed a course or gained new experience since creating your profile, your old information may no longer accurately describe your background.

Keeping your profile current does not guarantee an interview or job.

Employers and individual programmes can set their own requirements and decide who progresses through their selection processes.

The goal is therefore simple: make sure the information associated with your account is accurate and current.

How to Apply for PYEI School Assistant Opportunities

Some people use SA Youth specifically because they are interested in School Assistant opportunities.

These positions have been offered through recruitment phases connected with the Presidential Youth Employment Initiative (PYEI) and Basic Education Employment Initiative (BEEI).

Previous phases have included roles such as:

  • Education Assistant (EA); and
  • General School Assistant (GSA).

The roles and their requirements can differ. More importantly, School Assistant applications are not permanently open.

📅 Recruitment takes place during specific periods. From one phase to another, the programme can have different:

  • opening and closing dates;
  • eligibility criteria;
  • available positions;
  • education requirements;
  • location rules; and
  • application instructions.

Do not assume that requirements from an older recruitment phase still apply.

Before applying, you need to establish whether recruitment is currently open and which rules apply to that particular phase.

⚠️ Be careful with unofficial School Assistant adverts. Social media posts and messages can circulate old dates, outdated requirements or misleading application instructions.

You should confirm the current application status before providing information or following an unfamiliar application route.

👉 Check PYEI School Assistant application status, requirements and application guidance

Being registered on SA Youth is only the starting point. You also need access to your account, accurate information and opportunities that match your circumstances.

🔐 Choose the guide that matches what you need to solve now: recover or create your account, review your profile, or check the current PYEI School Assistant application information.
